Up to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the USA and Iran on 2026-06-17, the only practical solution to the Middle East Conflict was our Justice for Palestine proposal, but, even this had become impossible due to the events in Gaza after 2023-10-07 and Israel's activities in Gaza and the West Bank, which hardened the Palestinian resolve to stay in Palestine, come what may, and the Israeli desire to extend their control over the held by them areas and beyond.
Now that the President of the USA, Donald Trump, wants to end the conflict, once and for all, by peaceful means, even against the desires of the present Israeli government, the end of the Middle East Conflict has become a practical possibility.
Up to now the prevalent Western Narrative of the Middle East Conflict has been based on Benjamin Netanyahu's books and speeches, which were used to justify the 2001 War on Terror, and the US/Israel attacks on Iran, culminating in the war which is now to be ended as per the Memorandum of Understanding.
But this Netanyahu narrative is based on B Netanyahu's ambitions, not realities on the ground, and continuing to follow it can bring nothing but more wars, hatred and destruction. It is also used to pose obstacles to President Trump's peace initiative and to make it fail.
One of the Netanyhu claims is that Hamas and Hizbullah are Iran's "proxies", that is acting on behalf of Iran. But they are acting on their own behalf, although Iran helps them, just as Israel is not a USA proxy, but acts on its own behalf, while the USA helps it.
The root causes of the Middle East Conflict are: (1) expulsion of Arabs in 1948, and (2) occupation by Israel of the rest of Palestine in 1967. Without these events Hamas and Hiszbullah would not have even existed. And both will become redundant and will be dissolved, if the 2002 Saudi proposed peace plan is implemented.
If this plan is implemented, the Conflict will end, and Israel will be recognized by all the world and live in peace with its neighbours. Hamas, Hizbullah, and Iran, as well as all the rest, except Israel, accept this peace plan.
Without implementing this peace plan the conflict will continue, and Israel will become a world pariah, hated by all the world.
By ending this conflict President Trump will achieve what all the preceding US presidents have failed to achieve since 1948 - permanent stable peace in the Middle East.
